A couple weekends ago we knocked out some major shoots for Fate Awakening! Yep, we’re still workin’ on it, and it will be finished soon!
One of the scenes we’ve been needing for a while is some stuff that happens on the city bus. So we grabbed our camera, and hopped aboard! Turns on out Sundays, there’s only one bus running back and forth on Baseline, and it makes one round, and stops for a 20 minute break! So we had to work fast. Most the stuff we got was our actor getting on and off, and dosing off, so it wasn’t like we were trying to film a whole “Speed” move or anything. We had a few minor issues - like the DP forgetting the battery to the camera once we were 5 miles down the road from our cars - but it all worked out in the end.
When we were about halfway around the bus rout the bus driver lady said, “You boys arn’t going to go runnin’ off with my bus if I go to the bathroom are you?” “NO MA’AM!” we said.
So for about twenty minutes we had the bus all to ourselves just parked on the side of the road. Awesome! We got everything we need and more! Only about two more shoots, and principle photography is done!
I’ll post some screen shots of what we got in a couple days.

So a few weeks ago we were shooting a particular scene where the screen of a television gets smashed and then the camera will allegedly dolly through. Well… the TV was smashed alright, but we ended up having to fork over some 500 bones to replace the light! Anyway… thought you all might get a kick of of the clip.
(Foley and ADR were added for effect…)
